Darkness

By

Sarah

The sun sets, the moon rises

In the shadows lie mysteries,

Secrets to remain untold

Though in the shadows,

In the silence, there is life

Poetry

By

Sarah

Poetry is like

The heart telling a secret

It can not carry

Mountains

By

Sarah

The mountains loom

In the foggy gloom

To look down on the sad town

Sunset

By

Sarah

As red as fire

It burns beauty in the soul

As bright as blue ice

The Day of the Birds

By

Sarah

I saw a bird on the window sill

I saw one in the mall
I saw a bird on the telephone pole
I saw 5 in the town park

And when I got home, to my surprise,

There were 3 on my door step

When I saw my pet bird,

I whispered for only it to hear,

Today is the day of the birds

A Soft Blue Cloud

By

Sarah

A soft blue cloud flutters onto my window sill

Breathless I sit and watch

Listening to the amazing song it sings

Under the rising sun its feathers glow

Every movement sends light bouncing off of every feather

Joyously it sings about the joy of life

And I remember the promise of a new day

Youthfully it flies into the sunrise

The Sun and the Moon

By

Sarah

       Sun

           Bright, beautiful

       Burning, lighting, shining

     Orange,  hot,  indigo,  cold

   Changing, moving, disappearing

             Dark, mysterious

         Moon

A Salute to Cats Everywhere

 By

Sarah

Curiosity rages in their hearts

And knowledge surrounds them

They hunt and play skillfully

Some (all) cats are purrfect

A Kitten Getting into Trouble

 By

Sarah

A kitten tore up a sweater

To make a ball of yarn

He hid it in the sink

So he wouldn't have to sleep in the barn

He hid it in the litter box

Then it smelled like rubble

He did all this so he wouldn't get into trouble

Rajah

By

Sarah

My Siamese cat Rajah

Is an entertainer, cause ya

Almost always stop and stare

As he runs head first into a chair

Rajah's "not so" Graceful Jump

 By

Sarah

One day my neighbor asked for directions

She was from Egypt where animals have infection

Then she saw our Siamese cat Rajah

She jumped 4 feet backwards

Rajah did the same, it was very awkward

Perfect cat

Called Ashley

Loved to jump and

Run

Hush

By

Sarah

My cute kitten Hush,

Had brown fur that was soft and lush

Pixie

By

Sarah

Pixie

Gray, brown

Bit, hissed, scratched

Loved, scared

Perfect

Dusty

By

Sarah

Dusty was the one cat

Who everyone loved

He was very playful

And very old

He had to move a lot

He'd seen so many houses

He simply forgot

To live

Little Red

By

Sarah

His coat was as red as flames

His mane was the color of the sun

Reflecting off of

The hot, tan, desert sands

He was hard to ride,

But easy to play with

Everyone loved him

And no one was ready to say,

Good-bye

A BATTLE OF WILL

By: Sarah

ON THE BURNING DAY OF THE DRAGON WAR THE FIRST RIDER WAS BORN

CENTURIES LATER AN EVIL AROSE AND PROCLAMED HIMSELF KING

THE EVIL GREW AND THE RIDERS FELL IT SEEMED, NEVER TO RETURN

THE KING’S ENEMIES FLED TO LANDS UNKNOWN IN A SILENT BUT FATAL REBELION

NOW IN OUR DARKEST HOUR A RUMOR HAS ARISEN THAT A RIDER AND HIS DRAGON ROAM ALAGAISIA

Light that was once gone will be restored and evil dead in a battle of metal and magic

What will seem like a battle of strength and force will actually be a battle of will.
